Star Alliance CEO, Theo Panagiotoulias took centre stage at the Aviation Club UK. The first airline alliance CEO to address the club, he outlined the importance of Heathrow and the UK to Star Alliance. Speaking to an audience of industry professionals and media, he focused on Heathrow Airport and potential expansion, and the importance of having all 23 Star Alliance carriers under one roof at Terminal 2.
He said he is passionate about colocation at T2 and its success, and that any change to Star Alliance airlines being colocated in single terminal would be detrimental. He introduced new Managing Director for the UK, Simon Ralph, saying that Simon had an important job to do and to make sure the alliance voice heard.
On the issue of Heathrow expansion, Theo said the price tag was eye-watering and that the project needs to be affordable.
